Popular "Hangouts"
for Mississippi Southern Students
Wimpy's  (located in the basement of Southern Hall)
The Pines (located on Hwy 49 South in Stone County)
"Hobo Corner" Downtown Hattiesburg
Corner of West Pine and Hardy Street
Was the known spot where students congregated to find rides back to the campus.  It wasn't "cool" to take the bus.  Here some students went from a simple ride to eventual marriage.
"The Friendly College"
M.S.C. Alma Mater

We sing to thee, our Alma Mater,
As our hearts we give to thee,
Loyalty we pledge forever---
Loyalty to M.S.C.
O, give us courage to go forward
To our tasks and let us be
Men of trust for thy name's keeping
For the name of M.S.C.
And now we pledge thee by our honor,
Steadfast love and loyalty;
Working ever for thy glory---
For thy glory, M.S.C.

Chorus
Spacious skies and land of sunshine
verdant trees and sheltering walls;
Now our hearts lift ever to thee
As we praise thy hallowed halls.
