Shreveport, LA - This game could be re-named the James Henry show. The Southern Miss defensive back/punt returner scored two second half touchdowns on punt returns of 65 and 45 yards. His 65 yard punt return still remains the Independence Bowl Punt Return record. USM's Shelton Gandy also turned in a solid performance, scoring two touchdowns putting UTEP completely out of the game. The win marked only the second Bowl win in Southern Miss' Bowl History. James Henry was named the defensive MVP. |
